1. Let Shikamaru or Temari (or both) introduce you.

Shikamaru spared a glance at the Nin he was showing around Konoha. The black-grey hair refused to stay flat despite how often the guy tried to tame it. His uniform was casual but neat, showing that he was slightly built. His brown eyes were a mix of amusement, boredom and mischief. He was currently talking to Temari, who was laughing at whatever he was talking about. Shikamaru was NOT looking forward to the day that Naruto met the guy.

‘Tsunade-knows just what sort of humiliating or perverted pranks they would get up to on that day.’ he thought. Speak of the devil; the thought of Ninja and his sensei Jiraya had turned up after feasting at that ramen bar they always went to. Naruto gave Shikamaru his trademark grin and started speaking.

“Hey Shikamaru! Who’s this guy here? I’ve never seen him around before!” Naruto asked.

“Tsk. Michael.” Shikamaru said with a yawn. Michael turned and glared at Shikamaru.

“You call THAT an introduction? I’ll show you how to properly introduce someone…” Michael said with a grin before turning and whispering something into Temari’s ear.

A moment later, veins were bludging on her angry looking face as she looked towards Shikamaru. He knew that somehow, he was not in a good situation. His only plan was to creep away, before turning and running away while muttering “Troublesome woman...” under his breath. Temari heard this and promptly chased after him. The three remaining Nin laughed at Shikamaru’s misfortune.

“So what did you say to Temari? She looks angrier than Tsunade on a bad day.” Jiraya asked. Michael stopped laughing for a moment and said;

“Oh…I said that Shikamaru had someone use ‘Oiroke no Jutsu’ to make themselves look like her, and that he put up a picture of it on his wall at home.”

2. Let’s start off easy. Draw Shikamaru and Temari in school uniforms or some other modern clothes.

Shikamaru looked at his watch and straightened his suit and tie. He liked how he looked in his suit but it was so troublesome that he had to be up so early for this client. He was hoping that he would be able to sleep in for once since finding employment as a lawyer in his family’s law firm. But it hadn't happened once since he started four months ago. He heard a knock on the door. His 8am appointment had finally turned up to discuss the state of Kohona/Suna relations. What he saw made him sweat slightly.

The blonde-haired woman who had walked in wore an elegant suit and skirt that fit closely to her body’s curves, while the slit on her skirt was showing a lot of leg. She smelled of confidence and charisma and by the way she walked, she knew it too. She smirked at him as she sat down.

“I’m Temari of Suna. We have a lot to discuss about…” she said as she crossed her legs over and leaned forward. Shikamaru gulped. This was going to be a long day…

3. Now draw them in a different style; you can mimic someone else’s style or just use one of your own. (In my own style here, if any style at all. This is my first ShikaTema writing here xD So no promises)

Shikamaru didn’t like to admit it, but he wasn’t as annoyed by Temari’s presence as he was when he had faced her in the Chuunin exams some two and a half years ago. She had left a lasting impression on him when she had saved him, and after that he had came to respect her abilities as a Nin. They had somehow worked quite well together during the ‘Rescue Gaara’ incident, and the respect between them was growing. The sly comments about ‘Mr Crybaby’ and ‘I’ll admit that you did so-so…’ still annoyed him from time to time.

And now here as she walked away after saying that he could easily become a Jounin if he stopped complaining about his missions, he realised that he liked the way she smiled at him.

‘Something must be wrong with me… Since when did I start to like this troublesome woman…’ he thought as he scratched his head in embarrassment from her last comment. If his mother found out about this, he’d never hear the end of it…

“What a pain…”

Temari was thinking about how everything was back in Suna, but the look on Shikamaru’s face as she had left was fighting for her attention. It appealed and amused her.

‘He’s always been fun to tease. The look on his face is priceless.’She thought as she slowly picked up her pace. His comments about men and women had annoyed her just as much as her own verbal jabs annoyed him. But his calm and quiet demeanour was comforting. She also liked his sarcastic wit and his cloud watching habit, to the point that she joined him from time to time.

‘It makes the visits to Kohona worthwhile. Not to mention that he did such a great job of showing me around. I wonder what he’ll show me the next time I have to stay in Kohona... Oh shit. I think that he’s part of the reason why I’m enjoying my trips between Kohona and Suna. I might… like him? That lazy crybaby?  If Gaara hears about that, he’d likely kill Mr Crybaby…’

4. Hooray it’s time for them to kiss or at the very least be really sweet like horribly uncharacteristic and painfully uncanon fanfic sweet.

Temari and Shikamaru looked at each other uncomfortably before they both turned away pouting.

“Why did I let you take me out Mr. Crybaby? This has been a waste of mytime.” Temari said in frustration. Shikamaru drank some sake before speaking;

“Tch. Troublesome woman.” Shikamaru said with his trademark frown. “You’re such a pain. If you would just relax and stop being a pain for a few minutes I’d be enjoying myself more. This is why women are…”

“What? Can’t you ever stop complaining about women? Or are you scared that you’ll actually like being with one?” Temari said teasingly before saying “You Lazy Nin…” Shikamaru smirked upon hearig this, his plan was working perfectly.

“Well you scary woman, if you could be a little bit kinder to me like when you visited Kohona last time, I might think that you’d be worth the trouble of getting to know better. I might even invite you to have dinner at my place.” He said, grinning at angry woman.

“You baka, what would be so good about your- WHAT?” Temari said in surprise. Shikamaru’s grin got bigger.

“You heard me. If you could be a little nicer, I’d invite you to dinner at my parent’s place. I’m sure that my they would be happy to meet you.” Shikamaru said with a laugh. Temari’s face was one of stunned silence, but she grinned quickly enough.

“Well, you’re not as lazy as I thought. I’ll treat you a little better then. When I meet your parents, it had better be the best night I’ve ever had. But I’ll make sure it will be worth your trouble.” Temari said before leaning closer to give Shikamaru a playful, caring and somewhat seductive kiss.

5. NOW DRAW THEM WITH KITTIES. RIGHT NOW.

Temari looked at Shikamaru and the kitten she had gotten him for a moment. Shikamaru was staring at the clouds as usual, while the Kitten, which was called ‘Asuma’ was lying flat on his stomach. They really were like each other. They were rarely motivated to do anything, and whenever Shikamaru had a mission, he would complain about it being ‘troublesome’. ‘Asuma’ would always get up mewing before finding another spot to sleep on. It was the perfect gift for him, a ‘thank you’ for helping her have such a good time when she was in Konoha previously.

“Hey troublesome woman, why don’t you come over here and have a look at the clouds with us. ‘Asuma’ misses your annoying voice… As do I.” Shikamaru said.

“Well, I might do so just this once, Mr Crybaby. If ‘Asuma’ finds it comfortable, it can’t be all bad.” Temari joked as she sat down next to Shikamaru and patted ‘Asuma’.

6. And now it’s time to put them in silly hats and/or costumes.

“So why am I dressed up like this?” Shikamaru asked. He wasn’t happy with the ‘wizard clothing’ that Temari had chosen for him. He wore a dark blue hat as well as a robe and tunic of the same color. He even had a grey beard-wig to complete the outfit.

“Cry-baby, it’s the latest fashion in Suna! And it’s perfect for the festival!” Temari said. “So how do I look?” She spun around once and winked at Shikamaru to show off her outfit, a ‘Witch’ outfit that stood out against Shikamaru’s robes. She wore an ocean-green robe over a short skirt and shirt. In her hand was a broomstick that she had found with the outfit. Shikamaru hoped that he wouldn’t be on the receiving end of that broom.

“…You look fine, troublesome woman. Let’s go.” Shikamaru commented as they headed off towards the festival.


7. It’s CROSSOVER TIME. Include whatever anime/manga/show/movie/book/whatever. Hilarity or sexiness had better ensue.        (Fire Emblem! Based off the Lyn/Hector A Support)

Shikamaru looked towards the woman next to him. She still had a distant look on her face. He couldn’t stand it, and he quickly came up with a plan to cheer her up.

“Temari.” He said with concern in his eyes. She looked towards him, but her eyes were dull and lacking the spark that they had.

“Shikamaru...” Temari whispered.

“Say, Temari... You remember when we first met?” Shikamaru asked. A bit of fire returned to Temari as she spoke:

“I do, I remember it well.  It during the Chunin Exams. I had to fight you because Sasuke wasn’t around to fight me, and then Naruto pushed you down to the arena when you were announced as my opponent. You somehow got the upper hand on me, but you gave up instead of winning the battle. But we’ve been fighting together for the last couple of years.”

“Temari-Chan, why do you put up with my comments about men and women? Why are we together now?” Shikamaru asked.

“Well...” Temari said softly, hesitantly even. Shikamaru kept piling on the questions that he had planned on asking.

“It’s because we're friends, right? Say if you were much stronger than I was... Would that make me useless to you?” He asked. Temari shook her head. Even if he wasn’t as good as she was when it came to nin-jutsu, his strategic thinking was really useful to have around.

“No... Of course not.” She said, wondering where this conversation was going.

“Fighting isn't everything on this journey, you know.  If fighting was everything, what use would we have of Sakura’s healing jutsu? Or my planning abilities?” Shikamaru asked, he knew the question was rhetorical and it would lead him to where he wanted to be.

“Well, I suppose...” Temari said. Shikamaru knew that the moment was now.

“You are strong.  I know how powerful you are.  Just, I was stronger that day.” He said comfortingly. Temari’s shoulders shook with silent laughter.

“Hah!” Temari said as her trademark smirk returned.

“W-What!?” Shikamaru asked as his face turning slightly red.

“You're too much- Saying that kind of thing with a straight face. What happened to the lazy chauvinist that I know so well? Have you finally stopped being a crybaby?” Temari teased. Shikamaru groaned and gave Temari an annoyed look.

“Tch, I’m still here. I haven’t changed. But, you looked like you needed a bit of help. Troublesome woman, I'm not this way to just anyone, you know...” He muttered.

“What?” Temari asked as she understood the full depth of what he was saying unintentionally.

“A-Ah! The enemy has arrived. Let's go, Temari! Don't lag behind!” Shikamaru said with a blush as he engaged the Sound Nin in battle. “Kage Mane No Jutsu!”

Temari stood still for a moment before she slipped back into reality.

“What! W-Wait up!” She called out as she readied her fan.

8. CO-OP. Ask a friend for a random verb. Draw Shikamaru and Temari doing that verb. The winning verb is ‘jumping’.

Shikamaru and Temari were at the training grounds in Kohona one early morning, after Temari had decided that they were going to do something different today.

“Why am I up so early? This is a pain…” Shikamaru groaned. Temari glared at him and tugged him along.

“You lazy Nin, this will be fun, trust me!” Temari said while they were walking towards the trampoline that had been set up the last night. “Look, you always look at the clouds, right? Well perhaps this would bring you a little closer to them from time to time.” Shikamaru smiled in appreciation.

“Heh, you’re not so troublesome after all. I suppose it will be worth the movement.” Shikamaru said as they got on the trampoline and started jumping up and down, and they saw who could jump up the highest out of the two of them. Naturally, Shikamaru was reaching for the clouds harder than what Temari was, and got closer to the clouds he liked so much. While he denied that he enjoyed himself, the smile on his face whenever he thought about it said otherwise.

9. Its 10 pm on a Saturday night. Do you know what Shikamaru and Temari are up to?

“Check.” Temari said with a grin.

“Shit. Troublesome woman.” Shikamaru groaned as he moved his King away. Temari took a moment to gloat before removing Shikamaru’s queen.

“There goes the queen, you know what that means.” Temari said with a grin.

“Sigh… fine…” Shikamaru took the captured piece and downed the shot that was in it. They were playing a drinking-based version of chess. Shikamaru was ahead in pieces, but the drinks had a bigger affect on him. Temari’s provocative clothing did not help either. Thankfully he was able to keep himself under control, but if he had a few more drinks he knew that he’d be all over her in a moment.

“It puts an… interesting spin on chess, doesn’t it?” Temari said with a sly grin. “I think I’ve finally come up with a means to beat you in this game.” Shikamaru smirked and laughed at Temari.

“It is, but you’ve underestimated me again… Check. I have you where I want you.” Shikamaru said as he took away the pawn in front of Temari’s king. She paled as she realised he had her finished in two moves. She drank the shot in the piece and faced reality. She was about to lose the game, and she knew what that meant. Not that she was going to have a bad time or anything like that, she just preferred being in control of their… nightly exercise.
